How We Honor Diversity

FPAAZ has always valued diversity and always will. We believe strong leadership and healthy community are built from a wide range of perspectives, experiences, and ways of thinking.

Diversity can be understood in many ways, including through demographic indicators. Those approaches are valid and often important. Because our work relies heavily on judgment, collaboration, and decision-making, we place particular emphasis on cultivating diversity of perspective — the differences in insight, experience, and viewpoint that shape better outcomes.

Our board reflects the community we serve and the profession as it exists today. Arizona’s demographics and the financial planning profession itself shape the pool of potential leaders. Within that reality, we are intentional about representing a broad and fair cross-section of our community.

That kind of diversity grows through participation. Leadership is developed from within the community we engage, and we actively want more voices leaning into the work of the chapter. The door is wide open to those ready to contribute and help shape what comes next.

How the Work Gets Done

The chapter’s work is carried out through four focus groups:

        • Communications
        • Community Connections
        • Advancing the Profession
        • Professional Development

Each group is comprised of small working teams that form around real work. Teams and leadership roles evolve based on what the chapter needs and who is ready to contribute.
